Let's Go Bucs! Let's Go Bucs! Let's Go Bucs!
Tomorrow afternoon that cheer will be shouted out all over Pittsburgh as the Pirates open their season against the Chicago Cubs. Baseball season is upon us and every team has a chance to win a World Series. Here's my quick prediction for the season:
Record- 78-84
MVP- Andrew McCutchen
There are probably other predictions I can make but my hands are far too jittery with excitement for opening day to post anymore. GO PIRATES!

Roadtrip to Spring Training
During our Spring Break me and Adam Romo (adamromo.blogspot.com) will be taking a trip down to Florida to see the Pirates take on the Phillies in Spring Training. This game sets up to be EPIC as the teams will fight for supremacy in Pennsylvania. Anybody who wants to join the road trip (except for Rob) is invited. I will blogging interviews with Pirates (how hard can they be to get) and live tweeting the entire way!
Follow me on my journey to see the Pirates take over Pennsylvania!

The Start of a Rivalry
Atlanta v. Pittsburgh.. doesn't quite get any better than that.

First question after reading this article. Who beats up a Pirates fan? Isn't laughing at them easier and much more fun?

Joel Hanrahan
Joel Hanrahan was named closer today which kind of sucks for him because it means he will probably pitch less than 15 times all year. Good luck scoring that next contract! HA! See, winning isn't really everything.. screwing over average major league relievers is just as fun.
Three things the Pirates need to do to contend this year:
1.) Win more than 70 games. I know, seems obvious right? Somebody forgot to inform them. They have not won more than 70 since 2004 and more than 80 since 1992.
2.) Get rid of Joel Hanrahan. Seems kinda counterproductive in a thread titled "Joe Hanrahan" but c'mon, he sucks.
3.) Merge with the Phillies. I'm sure they could find room for McCutchen in their outfield and the rest of them can fetch water and catch pop flies for Chase Utley.

Dibs on a Pirate
So yeah, I'm gonna become a Pirates fan. I've told most of you thins over the last four months and NOBODY has believed me. I decided the reason for this was because I never replaced my "Dibs on a Yankee" blog with a "Dibs on a Pirate" blog. Problem solved! I now have this blog about the Pirates which figures to be 10000 times better than "Dibs on a Yankee." Don't believe it? Well, you probably should because Dibs on a Yankee sucked. Anyways, there will soon be a twitter account with exciting Pirates news and maybe even a Facebook fan page. Enjoy.
